“ For whatever reason, DD kept asking for hood rice (it's an STL thing and basically indicates the rice is dark and greasy. NO damn peas and carrots in it!). After asking around, a few family members recommended this location, which is also known as Yet Bun II (the original Yet Bun is still open and is definitely in the hood - next to Goody Goody). This location is in Pagedale, off of Page and Pennsylvania, cata-corner to Popeyes. As with eating at any non-veg eatery, you're playing Russian Roulette with how vegan-friendly the food will be. And with the limited English spoken, you're just chancing it. I ordered PLAIN FRIED RICE with no egg. (just rice with white and green onions) It came out delicious and there were no random egg specks to pick out like at some places. DD and DS both love their rice too. They alternate between the crab and shrimp fried rice. The stand out to me is how friendly the older man is who typically works the front window. He always smiles and says thank you. Awww. Thank you, sir! FYI - cash only. Come prepared. ”

You really can't go wrong in the city with this almost everyone of these joints has good rice!!! I was not shocked when I tried it and it was great!!! The duck noodles was very fresh and the special fried rice was typical greasy affair but delicious!! I recommend try try try!! Cash only and carry out only. ”
